Safeguards and Security
Verity Psychology uses JaneApp, a web-based system that securely stores and manages all client records and practices. Bank-level encryption is used to protect all stored and transmitted data hosted on Canadian servers (located near Montreal). All sensitive client information is protected and meets compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), which sets the rules for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information for private practitioners in Alberta. To mitigate disruption of access via the internet, your records may also be created, stored and/or backed up on an encrypted, password-protected computer and/or external hard-drive. A printed copy of your file may also be stored in a locked filing cabinet.
We implement reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. This includes secure server storage, access controls, and encryption where appropriate.
However, no system is 100% secure. If a security incident occurs, we will respond in accordance with legal requirements and notify you if your rights are affected.
