About Justine
Justine is the Founder of Verity Psychology (est. 2022) and brings a unique blend of therapeutic and assessment expertise to her clinical practice. Her experience across private practice, hospital, and rehabilitation settings has provided her with a broad understanding of psychological functioning and the many factors that shape how people think, feel, and navigate the world.
Justine’s approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and gently direct. She believes therapy is not about simply identifying what is wrong, but about developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences, and the patterns that influence your life. She works alongside clients to explore difficult questions, challenge unhelpful patterns, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change. Known for her authenticity and sense of humour, Justine values creating a space where clients can show up as they are—with curiosity, honesty, and openness.
In addition to psychotherapy, Justine has extensive experience in psychological assessment, having completed hundreds of psycho-educational, academic, psycho-vocational, and comprehensive assessments across a variety of clinical settings. This background informs her therapeutic work by providing a deeper understanding of cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning, as well as the complexity of each individual’s presentation. She also provides Therapeutic Assessment at Verity Psychology and additional contract assessment services at another location.
Justine is committed to providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive care. She recognizes the importance of understanding each person within the context of their identity, relationships, culture, and lived experiences, and strives to create an affirming space for clients from diverse backgrounds and LGBTQ+ population.
Beyond clinical practice, Justine is an Adjunct Academic Colleague with the University of Alberta, where she supports the training and supervision of graduate students. She also serves as a member of the Substantial Equivalency Sub-Committee (SESC) with the College of Alberta Psychologists, contributing to the ongoing evaluation of professional qualifications within the field.
